Three Dis(Graces) or the Terrible, Awful ...

Above is a picture of a cake that my owner made me for her mother's 70th Birthday.  I found the whole thing a major inconvenience.  It is meant to show my owner with her two sisters when they were teenagers.  Frankly,  the whole thing was a total waste of time as she frittered away about three hours modelling icing when she could have been admiring my great beauty, playing ball games with me or pushing her hands through my bounteous fur.  I will discourage such further crafting actitvities.  Even worse, the cake did not feature my great self but did feature some rather scruffy cats from the past.  Imagine!

  1. Dear Moses,

Have been enjoying your blog greatly. Sending you many sympathes - your owner must have superhuman powers of concentration, to ignore you for three whole hours in favour of mere icing. Still, must admit she created the amazingest cake. Did you try any, or wasn't it prawny enough?

    Do keep writing!

Love from your owner's cousin Emily

    1. Dear Madamoiselle Emily

Sadly the Delia Smith Dundee cake was rather a baking disaster. It said to leave in for 2 - 2.5 hours. When my owner checked at 2 hours it was flat, slightly chargrilled and leaden. I'm sure it would have proved an excellent missile back in the olden days were it to be fired out of a canon and would incapacitate any maurauding Vikings within firing distance. It therefore was for more decorative purposes. I managed to resist licking the icing. As you say a few bits of broken up chicken, some prawns and mayo would have improved Delia's recipe immensely!
